How He Proposed
Every summer Chad and I take a trip to The Werry's Family Lake House in De Tour, Michigan. Earlier in the trip one of their neighbors told us about a hike to Marble Head on Drummand Island so we (Chad, Janet, Philip, Heather, Corey and I) had talked about going. Chad was the one who suggested we actually go to Drummand Island for that hike, but needless to say everyone backed out but us. So we took the ferry over to the Island.
We then started our 3.5 mile walk 1 way through mud, water, and rock to the highest point on Drummond Island. Once we made it to the top, we had a self-timer camera taking pictures of us over the bluff. Chad was all about building up rocks to set the camera on…. I should have known something was up.
After lots of wonderful pictures Chad goes, "Is this last picture?” I said, “If it's a good one” and I hit the timer and ran to him. He then said, “You know how you said you wished there was a prize at the end of the hike?” (I kept saying I wish there was like a purse waiting for me at the end to make it worth it lol) He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! It was all caught on camera. His family ended up surprising us moments later, who actually did go on the hike.

Kendra, 28 years old, is originally from Eldorado, Illinois. She started college at USI where Chad and she crossed paths. She then finished school at SIU-C. She now works as a Radiologic Technologist and Sonographer.

Chad, 27 years old, is originally from New Harmony, Indiana. He went to college at USI and now works at Bristol.
About Them
They have dated for over 3 years and now live together in Carmi, Illinois. They love anything to do with sports like going to sporting events, being outside, going boating, simply being on the water, traveling the country and much much more.
